Abstract
The author presents insights into the conception of European model regarding the relationship between a state and a church on issue related to the freedom of religion and freedom from religion. He discusses the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) decision in Lautsi v. Italy, regarding the constitutionality of displaying crucifix in classrooms of the Italian public schools.
