Abstract
The article offers information on the effectiveness of the Mount Laurel doctrine regarding the use of zoning and land use powers by municipalities to promote fair housing and provide affordable housing opportunities for the low and moderate-income people under the statutory law in New Jersey. It informs that the Mount Laurel doctrine assists in tackling collective action problems related to the adequate supply of housing in the 566 municipalities and townships of New Jersey.
