Abstract

The author argues with the speech of Roscoe Pound in 1906 about popular dissatisfaction with the administration of justice. He states that Pound had diagnosed early 20th century disaffection with the judiciary in his speech. He notes that Pound discussed a set of ills society faced some 100 years ago and the place of the judiciary in it. He thinks that Pound brought to his talk the best and worst of his deep affection for and expertise in botany.
