Abstract
The article presents the author's comments on the views expressed by professors Ryan Goodman and Derek Jinks in their article "How to Influence States: Socialization and International Human Rights Law." He believes that the article offers insights on a field still dominated by an emphasis on black letter doctrine. He suggests that the professors, who relied on socialization as a theory of compliance, need case studies to provide context and further nuance.
